About Emily

Hi, I’m Emily, and I’m excited to be part of the CapSouth team as an Associate Advisor. I officially joined the firm in July 2025, and I’m thrilled to serve clients by walking alongside them through both their financial goals and life’s unexpected turns.

I recently graduated from Illinois State University with a degree in Finance and minors in Financial Planning, Insurance, and Economics. My education gave me a strong foundation in both the technical and relational aspects of advising, which I now put into practice daily as I help clients navigate their own unique journeys.

My interest in financial planning began long before my career did. Growing up, my parents instilled in me the importance of good financial habits. Whether it was saving for a goal or learning how to prioritize resources toward the things I valued most, those early lessons shaped how I view money as a tool for building a meaningful life.

That perspective became even more personal when my father retired. Walking through his transition, I saw how overwhelming the technical jargon of the process could be. It opened my eyes to the value of having experienced guidance to simplify the complex and provide clarity during such an important milestone. That experience solidified my decision to pursue a career in financial planning and ultimately led me here to CapSouth.

Outside of work, I enjoy traveling to new places, winding down with a good book, and experimenting in the kitchen with new recipes. These hobbies keep me grounded, creative, and curious—qualities I strive to bring into my work with clients each day.
